Concealed Carry in Illinois
If you want to own a gun in Illinois, chances are you will need a government license called a Firearm Owners Identification Card, commonly called a FOID Card.
If you want to actually carry it in your car or on you person, you will generally need a Concealed Carry License.
What does it Take to Get one
Like most things in government, it takes money and paper. Generally speaking you will need to take an approved 16 hour class, pay $150.00, and fill out an application.
WHERE DO I APPLY
You get a CONCEALED CARRY LICENSE from the Illinois State Police. It usually costs $150.00 for residents. Those non-residents allowed to apply get charged $300.00. To apply go to:
